मूर्धाभिषिक्तास् ते चैनं राजानः पर्युपासते ॥
दक्षिणार्थं समानीता राजभिः कांस्यदोहनाः ॥
आरण्या बहुसाहस्रा अपश्यं तत्र तत्र गाः ॥
आजह्रुस् तत्र सत्कृत्य स्वयम् उद्यम्य भारत ॥
अभिषेकार्थम् अव्यग्रा भाण्डम् उच्चावचं नृपाः ॥

Traducción

"And those noble kings, true to their word, of great vows, accomplished in the sciences, eloquent speakers, purified by the bath of the Vedānta and the avabhṛtha, steadfast, restrained by modesty, righteous, glorious, anointed to kingship — those kings served him. Forest-bred cows, many thousand, brought by kings with bronze milk-pails for the sake of the dakṣiṇā — I saw them here and there. With honor, lifting them themselves, O Bharata, the kings undisturbed brought vessels, both high and low, for the anointing."

Comentario

Anointed kings serve at another's anointing — crowned rulers carry vessels to a throne not their own. It is telling that bearers of the highest rank do not disdain service: before the triumph of dharma, even a king becomes a servant. The verse teaches that true dignity is not lowered by serving the righteous but raised by it: to bow before one greater is no disgrace but an honor for the noble. These kings are "true to their word and restrained by modesty" — and so they serve without being wounded by it. The envious man, unable to bow, sees in their humility only another's greatness; but the humble service of the crowned is the highest praise for the one they serve.
