Nakula said: 'That son of Vasava, who went to the northern quarter, conquered mighty foes in battle, and won hundreds of the finest gandharva horses, swift as the wind, dappled like partridges; he gave them to his brother with love at the great rajasuya. Without this hero of the fearsome bow, the younger brother of Bhima, I no longer wish to live in Kamyaka, which once seemed like the world of the immortals.' Sahadeva said: 'He, having conquered great chariot-warriors in battle, brought riches and maidens to the king at the rajasuya. He alone, with Vasudeva's consent, defeated the assembled Yadavas and carried off Subhadra. Seeing Jishnu's empty seat in our dwelling, my heart never finds peace. I would rather leave this forest, subduer of foes: without this hero it is not pleasant to us.'

The twins remember Arjuna through concrete deeds: victories, gifts, Subhadra. Love holds on to a person's history, not merely his absence.
