अत्रानुवंशं पठतः शृणु मे कुरुनन्दन ॥
उलूखलैर् आभरणैः पिशाची यद् अभाषत ॥
युगंधरे दधि प्राश्य उषित्वा चाच्युतस्थले ॥
तद्वद् भूतिलये स्नात्वा सपुत्रा वस्तुम् इच्छसि ॥
एकरात्रम् उषित्वेह द्वितीयं यदि वत्स्यसि ॥
एतद् वै ते दिवा वृत्तं रात्रौ वृत्तम् अतो ऽन्यथा ॥
अत्राद्याहो निवत्स्यामः क्षपां भरतसत्तम ॥
द्वारम् एतद् धि कौन्तेय कुरुक्षेत्रस्य भारत ॥
अत्रैव नाहुषो राजा राजन् क्रतुभिर् इष्टवान् ॥
ययातिर् बहुरत्नाढ्यैर् यत्रेन्द्रो मुदम् अभ्यगात् ॥
एतत् प्लक्षावतरणं यमुनातीर्थम् उच्यते ॥
एतद् वै नाकपृष्ठस्य द्वारम् आहुर् मनीषिणः ॥
अत्र सारस्वतैर् यज्ञैर् ईजानाः परमर्षयः ॥
यूपोलूखलिनस् तात गच्छन्त्य् अवभृथाप्लवम् ॥
अत्रैव भरतो राजा मेध्यम् अश्वम् अवासृजत् ॥
असकृत् कृष्णसारङ्गं धर्मेणावाप्य मेदिनीम् ॥
अत्रैव पुरुषव्याघ्र मरुत्तः सत्रम् उत्तमम् ॥
आस्ते देवर्षिमुख्येन संवर्तेनाभिपालितः ॥
अत्रोपस्पृश्य राजेन्द्र सर्वांल् लोकान् प्रपश्यति ॥
पूयते दुष्कृताच् चैव समुपस्पृश्य भारत ॥

atrādyāho nivatsyāmaḥ kṣapāṃ bharatasattama ||
dvāram etad dhi kaunteya kurukṣetrasya bhārata ||
atraiva nāhuṣo rājā rājan kratubhir iṣṭavān ||
yayātir bahuratnāḍhyair yatrendro mudam abhyagāt ||
etat plakṣāvataraṇaṃ yamunātīrtham ucyate ||
etad vai nākapṛṣṭhasya dvāram āhur manīṣiṇaḥ ||
atra sārasvatair yajñair ījānāḥ paramarṣayaḥ ||
yūpolūkhalinas tāta gacchanty avabhṛthāplavam ||
atraiva bharato rājā medhyam aśvam avāsṛjat ||
asakṛt kṛṣṇasāraṅgaṃ dharmeṇāvāpya medinīm ||
atraiva puruṣavyāghra maruttaḥ satram uttamam ||
āste devarṣimukhyena saṃvartenābhipālitaḥ ||
atropaspṛśya rājendra sarvāṃl lokān prapaśyati ||
pūyate duṣkṛtāc caiva samupaspṛśya bhārata ||
'Now, descendant of Kuru, hear from me the anuvamsha spoken by a pishachi wearing pestles in place of ornaments: "If, having tasted curd at Yugandhara, having dwelt at Achyutasthala, and having bathed at Bhutilaya, you wish to live with your sons, then, having stayed here one night, do not remain a second. By day the order here is one thing, by night another." Today we shall spend this night here, best of the Bharatas, for this, Kaunteya, is the gateway to Kurukshetra. Here, O king, Nahusha Yayati performed sacrifices with many jewels, and there Indra found joy. This is Plakshavatarana, the tirtha of the Yamuna; the wise call it the door to the summit of heaven. Here the highest sages, having performed Sarasvata sacrifices with sacrificial posts and mortars, go to the avabhritha bathing. Here, tiger among men, King Bharata released the pure sacrificial horse, repeatedly obtaining, by righteousness, the earth with black antelopes. Here, O tiger among men, Marutta dwells in the finest sattra, guarded by the chief of the devarshis, Samvarta. Touching the water here, O Bharata, a man sees all the worlds and is purified of evil.'
