मन्दीभूते च पवने तस्मिन् रजसि शाम्यति ॥
महद्भिः पृषतैस् तूर्णं वर्षम् अभ्याजगाम ह ॥
ततो ऽश्मसहिता धाराः संवृण्वन्त्यः समन्ततः ॥
प्रपेतुर् अनिशं तत्र शीघ्रवातसमीरिताः ॥
ततः सागरगा आपः कीर्यमाणाः समन्ततः ॥
प्रादुरासन् सकलुसाः फेनवत्यो विशां पते ॥
वहन्त्यो वारि बहुलं फेनोडुपपरिप्लुतम् ॥
परिसस्रुर् महाशब्दाः प्रकर्षन्त्यो महीरुहान् ॥
तस्मिन्न् उपरते वर्षे वाते च समतां गते ॥
गते ह्य् अम्भसि निम्नानि प्रादुर्भूते दिवाकरे ॥
निर्जग्मुस् ते शनैः सर्वे समाजग्मुश् च भारत ॥
प्रतस्थुश् च पुनर् वीराः पर्वतं गन्धमादनम् ॥

tato 'śmasahitā dhārāḥ saṃvṛṇvantyaḥ samantataḥ ||

tataḥ sāgaragā āpaḥ kīryamāṇāḥ samantataḥ ||
prādurāsan sakalusāḥ phenavatyo viśāṃ pate ||
vahantyo vāri bahulaṃ phenoḍupapariplutam ||
parisasrur mahāśabdāḥ prakarṣantyo mahīruhān ||
tasminn uparate varṣe vāte ca samatāṃ gate ||
gate hy ambhasi nimnāni prādurbhūte divākare ||
nirjagmus te śanaiḥ sarve samājagmuś ca bhārata ||
pratasthuś ca punar vīrāḥ parvataṃ gandhamādanam ||
When the wind grew weaker and the dust settled, rain quickly came with large drops. Then from every side torrents mixed with stones fell without ceasing, driven by the swift wind. Then from every side appeared waters flowing toward the ocean, turbid and foaming, O lord of the people. They carried much water and drifting foam, flowed with a great roar, and swept away the trees. When the rain ceased, the wind grew calm, the water withdrew into the hollows, and the sun appeared; they all slowly came out and gathered together, O Bharata, and the heroes set out once more for the mountain Gandhamadana.'
