Traducción

Deeds, good and evil, go before the doer on his journey to the world to come; the agent must inevitably follow their path. Your labor in this life is regarded by all as comparable to that food, savory and refined, which is fitting to offer with reverence to brāhmaṇas — food that is offered during religious ceremonies together with generous gifts to the officiating priests. All actions are performed while this body exists, O son of Pṛthā; after death there is nothing left to do. And you have performed great deeds that will bring you good in the world to come, deeds the righteous admire. There, in that other world, a man is free from death and decrepitude and fear, and from hunger and thirst, and from all that is displeasing to the mind; in this place there is nothing to be done save to gratify one's senses. Such, O ruler of men, are the results of our deeds. Therefore act no more out of desire in this world. Do not undertake action here, O son of Pāṇḍu, and thereby part with truth, self-restraint, uprightness, and compassion.
