यो वेद मानुषं व्यूहं दैवं गान्धर्वम् आसुरम् ॥
स तस्य सेनाप्रमुखे धृष्टद्युम्नो महामनाः ॥
भीष्मः शांतनवो राजन् भागः कॢप्तः शिखण्डिनः ॥
तं विराटो ऽनु संयाता सह मत्स्यैः प्रहारिभिः ॥
ज्येष्ठस्य पाण्डुपुत्रस्य भागो मद्राधिपो बली ॥
तौ तु तत्राब्रुवन् के चिद् विषमौ नो मताव् इति ॥
दुर्योधनः सहसुतः सार्धं भ्रातृशतेन च ॥
प्राच्याश् च दाक्षिणात्याश् च भीमसेनस्य भागतः ॥
अर्जुनस्य तु भागेन कर्णो वैकर्तनो मतः ॥
अश्वत्थामा विकर्णश् च सैन्धवश् च जयद्रथः ॥

sa tasya senāpramukhe dhṛṣṭadyumno mahāmanāḥ ||

taṃ virāṭo 'nu saṃyātā saha matsyaiḥ prahāribhiḥ ||
jyeṣṭhasya pāṇḍuputrasya bhāgo madrādhipo balī ||
tau tu tatrābruvan ke cid viṣamau no matāv iti ||
duryodhanaḥ sahasutaḥ sārdhaṃ bhrātṛśatena ca ||
prācyāś ca dākṣiṇātyāś ca bhīmasenasya bhāgataḥ ||
arjunasya tu bhāgena karṇo vaikartano mataḥ ||
aśvatthāmā vikarṇaś ca saindhavaś ca jayadrathaḥ ||
‘We shall surely be victorious.’ Indeed, what Vibhatsu told me seemed to me to be true.’ Duryodhana said: ‘You rejoice, applauding the sons of Pritha, who were defeated at dice. Tell us now, what horses are yoked to Arjuna’s chariot, and what banners are raised upon it?’
