अन्नं तेन यदा भुक्तम् अन्यैर् दत्तं तपस्विभिः ॥
अथ गृह्यान्नम् अत्युष्णं विश्वामित्रो ऽभ्युपागमत् ॥
भुक्तं मे तिष्ठ तावत् त्वम् इत्य् उक्त्वा भगवान् ययौ ॥
विश्वामित्रस् ततो राजन् स्थित एव महाद्युतिः ॥
भक्तं प्रगृह्य मूर्ध्ना तद् बाहुभ्यां पार्श्वतो ऽगमत् ॥
स्थितः स्थाणुर् इवाभ्याशे निश्चेष्टो मारुताशनः ॥
तस्य शुश्रूषणे यत्नम् अकरोद् गालवो मुनिः ॥
गौरवाद् बहुमानाच् च हार्देन प्रियकाम्यया ॥
अथ वर्षशते पूर्णे धर्मः पुनर् उपागमत् ॥
वासिष्ठं वेषम् आस्थाय कौशिकं भोजनेप्सया ॥

annaṃ tena yadā bhuktam anyair dattaṃ tapasvibhiḥ ||
atha gṛhyānnam atyuṣṇaṃ viśvāmitro 'bhyupāgamat ||
bhuktaṃ me tiṣṭha tāvat tvam ity uktvā bhagavān yayau ||
viśvāmitras tato rājan sthita eva mahādyutiḥ ||
bhaktaṃ pragṛhya mūrdhnā tad bāhubhyāṃ pārśvato 'gamat ||
sthitaḥ sthāṇur ivābhyāśe niśceṣṭo mārutāśanaḥ ||
tasya śuśrūṣaṇe yatnam akarod gālavo muniḥ ||
gauravād bahumānāc ca hārdena priyakāmyayā ||
atha varṣaśate pūrṇe dharmaḥ punar upāgamat ||
vāsiṣṭhaṃ veṣam āsthāya kauśikaṃ bhojanepsayā ||

Indeed, it was through the merits of Sumukha, his character, purity, self-restraint, and other qualities that Matali himself wished to give him his daughter. Therefore it befits you to honor Matali." Kanva continued: "So Narada addressed Aryaka, who, seeing his grandson chosen as a bridegroom yet recalling the death of his son, was filled with joy and sorrow at once. Then he addressed Narada and said: "How, O celestial sage, could I not wish for Gunakeshi as a daughter-in-law! It cannot be, O great sage, that your words should not be held in high esteem by me, for who would not desire alliance with a friend of Indra? Yet I hesitate, O great muni, because of the very instability that would keep this union from being lasting."
