Traducción

"'What is the purpose of your coming? What are we to do? What is your command? All of us, O treasury of austerity, are your sons and must be directed by you.' Hearing these words of theirs, Madhavi, with great joy, approached her father Yayati and bowed to him. Seeing her sons bowed low with their heads, the ascetic woman spoke: 'These are your grandsons through a daughter, O king of kings; they are my sons and are not strangers to you. They will save you: this is the ancient decree. I am your daughter, O king, Madhavi, who wanders like a forest doe. I too have accumulated dharma; therefore accept half of it. Since all men, O king, share in the fruit of offspring, they desire grandsons through a daughter, just as you do, O lord of the earth.'"
