न हीमे सर्वराजानः पर्याप्ताः सहितास् त्वया ॥
क्रुद्धस्य भीमसेनस्य प्रेक्षितुं मुखम् आहवे ॥
इदं संनिहितं तात समग्रं पार्थिवं बलम् ॥
अयं भीष्मस् तथा द्रोणः कर्णश् चायं तथा कृपः ॥
भूरिश्रवाः सौमदत्तिर् अश्वत्थामा जयद्रथः ॥
अशक्ताः सर्व एवैते प्रतियोद्धुं धनंजयम् ॥
अजेयो ह्य् अर्जुनः क्रुद्धः सर्वैर् अपि सुरासुरैः ॥
मानुषैर् अपि गन्धर्वैर् मा युद्धे चेत आधिथाः ॥
दृश्यतां वा पुमान् कश् चित् समग्रे पार्थिवे बले ॥
यो ऽर्जुनं समरे प्राप्य स्वस्तिमान् आव्रजेद् गृहान् ॥
na hīme sarvarājānaḥ paryāptāḥ sahitās tvayā ||
kruddhasya bhīmasenasya prekṣituṃ mukham āhave ||
idaṃ saṃnihitaṃ tāta samagraṃ pārthivaṃ balam ||
ayaṃ bhīṣmas tathā droṇaḥ karṇaś cāyaṃ tathā kṛpaḥ ||
bhūriśravāḥ saumadattir aśvatthāmā jayadrathaḥ ||
aśaktāḥ sarva evaite pratiyoddhuṃ dhanaṃjayam ||
ajeyo hy arjunaḥ kruddhaḥ sarvair api surāsuraiḥ ||
mānuṣair api gandharvair mā yuddhe ceta ādhithāḥ ||
dṛśyatāṃ vā pumān kaś cit samagre pārthive bale ||
yo 'rjunaṃ samare prāpya svastimān āvrajed gṛhān ||
"All these kings, even together with you, are not able to look in the face of enraged Bhimasena in battle. Here, child, is gathered the entire force of earthly lords; here is Bhishma, and Drona, and this Karna, and this Kripa; Bhurishravas, son of Somadatta, Ashvatthaman, and Jayadratha. All of these are incapable of fighting Dhananjaya. For enraged Arjuna is unconquerable even by all gods and asuras together, by men, and by gandharvas; do not set your mind on war. Let there be found even one man, in the entire force of earthly lords, who, having met Arjuna in battle, would return home unharmed."

Krishna directs his instruction to Duryodhana directly and practically: to set aside pride, listen to friends, hold to dharma, and choose peace with the Pandavas. The point of this passage is not abstract morality but a warning of the concrete destruction of the dynasty, should the desire for power be placed above truth, kinship, and prudence.
