‘Form an alliance with them and roam through mountain strongholds and refuges, awaiting the right moment for the enemy’s misfortune: for he is not immortal, nor eternally young. Once a brahmin of true vision and great wisdom said of you, still a child: “Having met with great hardship, he will rise again to prosperity.” Remembering his words, I hope for your victory. Therefore, my son, I tell you, and I shall tell you again and again: for one whose undertaking, once successful, satisfies others, success is certain, provided he follows his aim through the proper means of policy.’
