Traducción

Seeing Saubhadra there locked in battle, the enraged Dhananjaya rushed forth, wishing to protect his son. Then the kings, with all their chariots, elephants and horses, led by Bhishma and Drona, advanced together against Savyasachin. Dust, suddenly raised from the earth by elephants, horses, chariots and riders, reached the path of the sun and became visible high in the sky. But thousands of elephants and hundreds of kings, upon entering the range of Arjuna's arrows, could no longer advance at all. All beings cried out, the quarters grew dark, and the terrible calamity of the Kurus became plain to see. Neither the firmament, nor the quarters, nor the earth, nor the sun could be discerned, O foremost of the Bharatas, because of the masses of arrows loosed by the diademed one. The chiefs of the chariot-troops were seen with their standards and elephants brought down, their horses slain; some had their chariots scattered in flight, other chariot-warriors, stripped of their chariots, fled in every direction. Everywhere were seen arms bearing weapons, adorned with armlets. Horsemen abandoned their horses, mahouts their elephants, and out of fear of Arjuna they fled in every direction, O king. The rulers of men, struck down by Arjuna, were seen falling and being cast down from their chariots, elephants and horses. Arjuna, then wearing a terrible form, with fierce arrows lopped off the warriors' arms — raised with maces, with swords, with lances, with quivers, with arrows, with bows, with goads, with banners. Upon the field of battle were seen heaps scattered about: of massive iron clubs, of hammers, of lances and javelins, of swords in the fray, of sharp battle-axes, of javelins, of cast-off armor and breastplates upon the ground, of standards, shields, fans everywhere, of parasols with golden shafts, of chowries, of goads, of whips, and of harness-straps. In your army, O Bharata, there was no man who could in any way go forth in battle to face the hero Arjuna. Whoever advanced against Partha in battle was sent by sharp arrows to the other world, O lord of men. As all your warriors fled on every side, Arjuna and Vasudeva blew their two splendid conches.
