Traducción

Then Duryodhana, seeing his army standing in dejection, said these words to the king of the Madras, O best of the Bharatas: 'This eldest son of Pandu, O uncle, having conquered our men before our very eyes, mighty-armed one, in his strength routs our army. Stop him, mighty-armed one, as the shore stops the abode of the makaras. For you are renowned far and wide for irresistible strength and valor.' Hearing these words of your son, the mighty Shalya advanced with a line of chariots to where King Yudhishthira stood. This sudden onslaught of Shalya's vast army, with the force of a great flood, the Pandava withstood in battle. Dharmaraja, the great chariot-warrior, swiftly struck the king of the Madras with ten arrows in the chest, while Nakula and Sahadeva struck him each with three straight-flying arrows. The king of the Madras in turn struck each of them with three arrows, then pierced Yudhishthira again with sixty sharp arrows, and struck the two furious sons of Madri with two arrows each. Then the mighty-armed Bhima, seeing in battle that King Yudhishthira had fallen under the power of the king of the Madras as if into the very jaws of death, the conqueror of foes rushed at him in the fight. Then a most terrible and dreadful battle began, as the sun, still shining, turned toward the western sky."
