शृणु राजन्न् एकमना वचनं ब्रुवतो मम ॥
यत् ते पुत्रास् तदाकार्षुर् हते देवव्रते मृधे ॥
निहते तु तदा भीष्मे राजन् सत्यपराक्रमे ॥
तावकाः पाण्डवेयाश् च प्राध्यायन्त पृथक् पृथक् ॥

śṛṇu rājann ekamanā vacanaṃ bruvato mama ||
yat te putrās tadākārṣur hate devavrate mṛdhe ||
nihate tu tadā bhīṣme rājan satyaparākrame ||
tāvakāḥ pāṇḍaveyāś ca prādhyāyanta pṛthak pṛthak ||

Traducción

[Sanjaya said:] Listen, O king, attentively to the word I speak — [tell of] what your sons did then, when Devavrata was slain in battle. When Bhishma, O king, true to his valor, was cast down, both your [warriors] and the partisans of the Pandavas fell into deep thought — each by himself.
