वधः संख्ये द्रवश् चैव शस्त्राणां च विसर्जनम् ॥
प्रयाचनं च शत्रूणां गमनं शरणस्य च ॥
एते प्रशमने योगा महास्त्रस्य परंतप ॥
सर्वथा पीडितो हि स्याद् अवध्यान् पीडयन् रणे ॥
तज् जग्राह पिता मह्यम् अब्रवीच् चैव स प्रभुः ॥
त्वं वर्षिष्यसि दिव्यानि शस्त्रवर्षाण्य् अनेकशः ॥
अनेनास्त्रेण संग्रामे तेजसा च ज्वलिष्यसि ॥

vadhaḥ saṃkhye dravaś caiva śastrāṇāṃ ca visarjanam ||
prayācanaṃ ca śatrūṇāṃ gamanaṃ śaraṇasya ca ||
ete praśamane yogā mahāstrasya paraṃtapa ||
sarvathā pīḍito hi syād avadhyān pīḍayan raṇe ||
taj jagrāha pitā mahyam abravīc caiva sa prabhuḥ ||
tvaṃ varṣiṣyasi divyāni śastravarṣāṇy anekaśaḥ ||
anenāstreṇa saṃgrāme tejasā ca jvaliṣyasi ||

सर्वथा पीडितः हि स्यात्sarvathā pīḍitaḥ hi syātfor he will surely suffer; for he will in every way suffer
अवध्यान् पीडयन् रणेavadhyān pīḍayan raṇewho presses the invulnerable in battle; who assails the inviolable in combat
तत् जग्राह पिता मह्यम्tat jagrāha pitā mahyamthat my father accepted for me; that my father received for me
अब्रवीत् च एव सः प्रभुःabravīt ca eva saḥ prabhuḥand that lord said; and that lord spoke
त्वम् वर्षिष्यसि दिव्यानिtvam varṣiṣyasi divyāniyou shall pour forth divine; you shall shower down divine
शस्त्रवर्षाणि अनेकशःśastravarṣāṇi anekaśaḥrains of weapons many times over; showers of weapons in multitude
अनेन अस्त्रेण संग्रामेanena astreṇa saṃgrāmewith this weapon in battle; with this astra in combat
तेजसा च ज्वलिष्यसिtejasā ca jvaliṣyasiand you shall blaze with splendor; and you shall blaze with radiance
Traducción

'Being slain in battle, or fleeing, or laying down one's arms, or pleading with the enemy, or turning to their refuge [surrender]—these are the means of pacifying the great weapon, O scorcher of foes; for whoever presses the invulnerable in battle will surely suffer in every way.' My father accepted this, and that lord said: 'With this weapon you shall pour forth divine rains of weapons many times over in battle, and you shall blaze with splendor.'
