Here, at the heart of the battle, Nara and Narayana reveal Themselves — the Lord's eternal pair (the very one who will later incarnate as Arjuna and Krishna). It is significant that the turning point comes not before but precisely with the Lord's entry into the battle: while the gods alone are fighting, the outcome remains uncertain, but once Narayana Himself takes up the cause, summoning Sudarshana, victory is assured. The discus Sudarshana — the Lord's weapon, 'appearing the instant it was thought of' — is an image of Vishnu's omnipotent will, for which a single thought suffices to scatter evil. Sudarshana is the Lord's own protecting energy, guarding the devoted and crushing impiety. The name 'Achyuta' — the Unfallen, the One who never falls — underscores that the Lord knows no defeat. The desperate resistance of the asuras hurling mountains shows the persistence of evil, yet it is powerless against the Lord's weapon. Thus scripture affirms: when the Lord Himself enters the struggle, no power of darkness can stand.
