पाण्डुर् धनुषि विक्रान्तो नरेभ्यो ऽभ्यधिको ऽभवत् ॥
अत्य् अन्यान् बलवान् आसीद् धृतराष्ट्रो महीपतिः ॥
त्रिषु लोकेषु न त्व् आसीत् कश् चिद् विदुरसंमितः ॥
धर्मनित्यस् ततो राजन् धर्मे च परमं गतः ॥

Pandu, valiant with the bow, surpassed all men; Dhritarashtra was stronger than all others. But in the three worlds there was no one equal to Vidura: ever constant in dharma, O king, he attained the highest perfection in dharma.

Here each brother is given his due for his chief virtue, and in this distribution lies a deep meaning. It is telling that Pandu is renowned for skill (the bow), Dhritarashtra for bodily strength, and Vidura for dharma — and dharma is set above the rest: "in the three worlds there was no one equal to Vidura." Here the scripture reveals its hierarchy of values: martial prowess and bodily strength are precious, but righteousness surpasses them both. It is significant, too, that the highest gift falls to Vidura, born of a serving woman and barred from the throne: heaven itself, as it were, balances his earthly deprivation with the highest good — incomparable virtue. Here is the consoling justice of providence: what is withheld by birth is repaid in full by spiritual greatness. Thus the scripture quietly prepares Vidura's role in the story to come — the voice of dharma, whose word will outweigh Dhritarashtra's strength and Pandu's skill.
