नहुषस् तां ततो दृष्ट्वा विस्मितो वाक्यम् अब्रवीत् ॥
स्वागतं ते वरारोहे किं करोमि शुचिस्मिते ॥
भक्तं मां भज कल्याणि किम् इच्छसि मनस्विनि ॥
तव कल्याणि यत् कार्यं तत् करिष्ये सुमध्यमे ॥
न च व्रीडा त्वया कार्या सुश्रोणि मयि विश्वस ॥
सत्येन वै शपे देवि कर्तास्मि वचनं तव ॥
इन्द्राण्य् उवाच
यो मे त्वया कृतः कालस् तम् आकाङ्क्षे जगत्पते ॥
ततस् त्वम् एव भर्ता मे भविष्यसि सुराधिप ॥
कार्यं च हृदि मे यत् तद् देवराजावधारय ॥
वक्ष्यामि यदि मे राजन् प्रियम् एतत् करिष्यसि ॥
वाक्यं प्रणयसंयुक्तं ततः स्यां वशगा तव ॥

nahuṣas tāṃ tato dṛṣṭvā vismito vākyam abravīt ||
svāgataṃ te varārohe kiṃ karomi śucismite ||
bhaktaṃ māṃ bhaja kalyāṇi kim icchasi manasvini ||
tava kalyāṇi yat kāryaṃ tat kariṣye sumadhyame ||
na ca vrīḍā tvayā kāryā suśroṇi mayi viśvasa ||
satyena vai śape devi kartāsmi vacanaṃ tava ||
indrāṇy uvāca
yo me tvayā kṛtaḥ kālas tam ākāṅkṣe jagatpate ||
tatas tvam eva bhartā me bhaviṣyasi surādhipa ||
kāryaṃ ca hṛdi me yat tad devarājāvadhāraya ||
vakṣyāmi yadi me rājan priyam etat kariṣyasi ||
vākyaṃ praṇayasaṃyuktaṃ tataḥ syāṃ vaśagā tava ||

अनुवाद

And Nahusha, seeing her, spoke to her, smiling, and said: 'Welcome to you, O woman of lovely hips. What is your pleasure, O you of the sweet smile? Accept me, who am devoted to you, O gracious one. What do you desire, O spirited woman? I shall fulfill your wish, O woman of pleasant glances and slender waist. And you need feel no shame, O woman of lovely hips. Trust me. By truth I swear, O goddess, that I shall do your bidding.' Indrani said: 'O lord of the world, I need the time that you have granted me. After that, O lord of the gods, you shall become my husband. I have a wish. Listen and hear, O king of the gods, what I shall say, O king, so that you may do what I desire. This is the favor I ask of your love for me.'
