अनुवाद

I alone am the source and the end of all causes and effects. This Eternal One, endowed with Divinity, existing in the form of the Self, is beheld by yogis with the inner eye. A man who knows Brahman, being equal to Brahman itself, is not glorified by good deeds nor stained by evil ones. Only for ordinary men do deeds, good or bad, yield differing results. A man who has known Brahman should be regarded as identical with Amrita, or with that state called Kaivalya, which neither virtue nor vice can touch. Therefore, having composed the mind in the manner described, one should attain that essence of sweetness which is Brahman. This Eternal One, endowed with Divinity, is beheld by yogis with the inner eye. Slander does not trouble the heart of a man who has known Brahman, nor does the thought that he has not studied the Veda or has not performed his Agnihotra. The knowledge of Brahman soon grants him that wisdom which is attained only by those who have mastered their minds. This Eternal One, endowed with Divinity — the Brahman that frees the Soul from sorrow and ignorance — is beheld by yogis with the inner eye. Therefore he who sees his own Self in all things need grieve no more, for grief belongs only to those occupied with various other worldly pursuits. Just as a man's purposes — the quenching of thirst and so forth — can be achieved as well from a well as from a great reservoir or a vast expanse of water, so too can all the various ends of the Vedas be attained by one who knows the Soul. Dwelling in the heart, the size of a thumb, this glorious One — the embodiment of Fullness — is not an object of sight. Unborn, he moves, and is awake by day and by night. He who knows him becomes learned and full of joy. I am called both mother and father. I am again the son. Of all that has been and of all that we shall be, I am the Soul. O Bharata, I am the old grandfather, I am the father, I am the son. You remain within my soul, yet you are not mine, and I am not yours! The Soul is the cause of my birth and of the continuation of my line. I am the warp and the weft of the universe. That on which I rest is indestructible. Unborn, I move, I am awake by day and by night. This is how I know by what means a man becomes learned and full of joy. Subtler than the subtle, possessed of surpassing eyes able to behold both the past and the future, Brahman is awake in every being. Those who know Him know that the Father of all that exists dwells in the heart of every created being!
