अनुवाद

Broad-chested and long-armed, that grinder of foes, unsurpassed in battle and armed with the finest weapons, the grandson of Sini, skilled in the use of arms and utterly fearless, is a mighty chariot-warrior wielding a bow four cubits in length. When this slayer of enemies, this leader of the Sinis, at my urging, pours forth his arrows upon the foe like those very clouds, utterly crushing their leaders with that downpour, then the son of Dhritarashtra will repent of this war. When this renowned warrior of long arms and firm mastery of the bow gathers his resolve to enter battle, the enemy, like beasts that have caught the scent of a lion, flee from him without even joining combat. This renowned warrior of long arms and firm mastery of the bow is capable of splitting even mountains and destroying the entire universe. Skilled in the use of weapons, practiced in battle, and endowed with extraordinary lightness of hand, he shines on the field of battle like the sun itself in the sky. This lion of the Vrishni race, this scion of the line of Yadu, superbly trained, possesses a variety of marvelous and excellent weapons. Indeed, Satyaki possesses knowledge of every kind of use of arms, said to be of the highest perfection. When he beholds in battle the golden chariot of Satyaki of the Madhu race, yoked to four white horses, then this scoundrel of unbridled passions, the son of Dhritarashtra, will repent. When he also beholds my terrible chariot, radiant with the splendor of gold and bright gems, yoked to white horses and adorned with a banner bearing the image of the Monkey, and driven by Keshava himself, then this scoundrel of unbridled passions will repent. When he hears the fierce sound produced by the constant drawing of the bowstring with fingers in leather guards — that terrible sound, loud as peals of thunder, of my bow Gandiva, which I wield in the thick of the great battle — then this villain, the son of Dhritarashtra, will repent, seeing himself abandoned by his troops, fleeing like cattle from the battlefield in every direction, enveloped in the darkness created by my shower of arrows. When he beholds countless arrows with sharp edges, fitted with beautiful feathers and capable of piercing the most vital organs, loosed from the string of Gandiva, like the fierce and terrible flashes of lightning emitted by clouds, destroying thousands of enemies and devouring countless horses and elephants clad in armor, then the son of Dhritarashtra will repent of this war.
