अनुवाद

The very directions themselves seemed confused, and nothing could be distinguished. Fires broke out everywhere, O king, and the earth trembled repeatedly. The contents of wells and water-vessels swelled and overflowed by the hundreds. The whole universe was wrapped in darkness. Since the atmosphere was filled with dust, neither the cardinal nor the intermediate points of the horizon could be discerned, O king. A loud roar was heard in the sky, yet no one could be seen from whom it might have come. This wondrous portent, O king, was observed throughout the land. A southwesterly wind, with sharp peals of thunder, uprooted thousands of trees and battered the city of Hastinapura. Yet in those places, O Bharata, through which he of the Vrishni line passed, a delightful breeze blew, and everything turned auspicious. Showers of lotuses and fragrant flowers fell there. The very road became delightful, freed from thorny grass and brambles.
