अनुवाद

And since all the watery forms—the moon and others—pour their water upon this region, this excellent region was therefore named Patala. It is from here that the celestial elephant Airavata, for the good of the universe, draws cool water to deliver it to the clouds, and it is this very water that Indra pours down as rain. Here dwell diverse kinds of aquatic creatures of various shapes, such as the Timi and others, which feed upon the rays of the moon. O charioteer, here are many kinds of beings who die by day, pierced by the rays of the sun, yet all of them revive by night, for the reason that the moon, rising here each day, touches these dead beings with Amrita by means of the rays that form its hands, and by this touch brings them back to life. Stripped of prosperity by Vasava, it is here that many sinful Danavas dwell, defeated by him and suffering under the weight of Time.
