यो ऽसत्सेवी वृथाचारो न श्रोता सुहृदां सदा ॥
परान् वृणीते स्वान् द्वेष्टि तं गौः शपति भारत ॥
स त्वं विरुध्य तैर् वीरैर् अन्येभ्यस् त्राणम् इच्छसि ॥
अशिष्टेभ्यो ऽसमर्थेभ्यो मूढेभ्यो भरतर्षभ ॥
को हि शक्रसमाञ् ज्ञातीन् अतिक्रम्य महारथान् ॥
अन्येभ्यस् त्राणम् आशंसेत् त्वद् अन्यो भुवि मानवः ॥
जन्मप्रभृति कौन्तेया नित्यं विनिकृतास् त्वया ॥
न च ते जातु कुप्यन्ति धर्मात्मानो हि पाण्डवाः ॥
मिथ्याप्रचरितास् तात जन्मप्रभृति पाण्डवाः ॥
त्वयि सम्यङ् महाबाहो प्रतिपन्ना यशस्विनः ॥
yo 'satsevī vṛthācāro na śrotā suhṛdāṃ sadā ||
parān vṛṇīte svān dveṣṭi taṃ gauḥ śapati bhārata ||
sa tvaṃ virudhya tair vīrair anyebhyas trāṇam icchasi ||
aśiṣṭebhyo 'samarthebhyo mūḍhebhyo bharatarṣabha ||
ko hi śakrasamāñ jñātīn atikramya mahārathān ||
anyebhyas trāṇam āśaṃset tvad anyo bhuvi mānavaḥ ||
janmaprabhṛti kaunteyā nityaṃ vinikṛtās tvayā ||
na ca te jātu kupyanti dharmātmāno hi pāṇḍavāḥ ||
mithyāpracaritās tāta janmaprabhṛti pāṇḍavāḥ ||
tvayi samyaṅ mahābāho pratipannā yaśasvinaḥ ||
"He who serves the unworthy, acts in vain, and never listens to friends, who chooses strangers and hates his own people — him, O Bharata, the sacred cow curses. You, having quarreled with these heroes, desire protection from others: from the unmannerly, the incapable, and the foolish, O bull among the Bharatas. Who on earth, apart from you, would hope for protection from others, having transgressed against kinsmen who are maharathas equal to Shakra? From birth the sons of Kunti have constantly been wronged by you, yet they have never grown angry with you, for the Pandavas are righteous of soul. From birth the Pandavas have been unjustly wronged, child, yet toward you, O mighty-armed one, these glorious ones have behaved rightly."
