अनुवाद

In the beak of this formation shone mighty Bhimasena; its eyes were the unassailable Shikhandin and Dhrishtadyumna, son of Prishata. The hero Satyaki, whose valor was true, became its head, while Partha, brandishing Gandiva, then took the neck. The full akshauhini in which glorious Drupada stood together with his son formed the left wing; the right wing was the Kaikeya, lord of an akshauhini. Behind stood the sons of Draupadi and valiant Saubhadra. At the rear stood King Yudhishthira himself, glorious and wise, together with the two twin brothers of graceful prowess. Then Bhima, charging into the mouth of the makara, reached Bhishma in the fight and covered him with arrows. Bhishma then let loose his great weapons, O Bharata, throwing the arrayed army of the sons of Pandu into confusion in the great battle. When the army was thrown into confusion, Dhananjaya swiftly struck Bhishma with a thousand arrows at the forefront of the fight; having warded off the weapons Bhishma had loosed in battle, he stood ready for war with his own heartened army.
