अनुवाद

"Having seen the mace rushing on, the son of Rohini [Balarama], to repel it, released the weapon Sthunakarna. Repelled by the force of the weapon, that mace fell to the ground, splitting the goddess Earth, as if shaking the mountains. There was a fearsome rakshasi there, named Jara, swift in valor; she joined that [newborn], Jarasandha, subduer of foes. For he was born of two mothers, in half-bodies, separately; by her he was joined, and hence he is called 'Jarasandha' [joined by Jara]."
