अनुवाद

That three-watch night, terrible in aspect, dreadful, resembling a thousand watches, became a taker of life for those being slain, and especially for the wounded. ‘Alas, the [endless] night has come’ — especially for those blinded by sleep; for all were spent of strength, the kshatriyas, downcast in spirit, both yours and the enemy's, bereft of weapons, without arrows. They, holding out thus, and especially the conscientious, looking to their own duty, did not abandon their own army.
