सुहृदश् चापि धर्मात्मा धनेन समतर्पयत् ॥

译文
Vaishampayana said: "With Dhritarashtra's permission, Pandu offered the wealth won by his own arm to Bhishma, Satyavati, and his mother; and Pandu sent that wealth to Vidura as well, and the righteous Pandu gratified his friends with gifts."

Here Pandu's generosity and reverence come to light. It is telling that he does not keep the wealth he has won for himself but distributes it — first to his elders (Bhishma, Satyavati, and his mother), then to his brother Vidura and to his friends. This is the dharma of righteous acquisition: what is won through valor is meant not for self-indulgence but for honoring elders and sustaining loved ones. It is also telling that Pandu acts "with Dhritarashtra's permission": though he himself won the wealth, he disposes of it with his elder brother the king's consent — humility does not leave him even at the height of glory. Thus the scripture shows that a hero's true wealth lies in his ability to give it away, honoring his elders and gladdening those close to him.
