न इह शस्त्रेण कर्तव्यम् शान्तानाम् अयम् आलयः विनीतक्रोधहर्षाणाम् ब्राह्मणानाम् तपस्विनाम्na iha śastreṇa kartavyam śāntānām ayam ālayaḥ vinītakrodhaharṣāṇām brāhmaṇānām tapasvinām'there is nothing to be done here with weapons; this is the abode of the peaceful, of brahmin ascetics whose anger and joy are subdued'
न इह अस्ति धनुषा कार्यम् न संग्रामेण कर्हि चित् निक्षिप एतत् धनुः तात प्राप्तः असि परमाम् गतिम्na iha asti dhanuṣā kāryam na saṃgrāmeṇa karhi cit nikṣipa etat dhanuḥ tāta prāptaḥ asi paramām gatim'here there is no need for a bow, nor ever for battle; set down this bow, my son — you have attained the highest goal'
