यस्य याते न पश्यन्ति भूमौ प्राप्तं पदं पदम् ॥
दक्षिणं यो धुरं युक्तः सुग्रीवसदृशो हयः ॥
यो ऽयं धुरं धुर्यवरो वामं वहति शोभनः ॥
तं मन्ये मेघपुष्पस्य जवेन सदृशं हयम् ॥
यो ऽयं काञ्चनसंनाहः पार्ष्णिं वहति शोभनः ॥
वामं सैन्यस्य मन्ये तं जवेन बलवत्तरम् ॥
यो ऽयं वहति ते पार्ष्णिं दक्षिणाम् अञ्चितोद्यतः ॥
बलाहकाद् अपि मतः स जवे वीर्यवत्तरः ॥
त्वाम् एवायं रथो वोढुं संग्रामे ऽर्हति धन्विनम् ॥
त्वं चेमं रथम् आस्थाय योद्धुम् अर्हो मतो मम ॥

dakṣiṇaṃ yo dhuraṃ yuktaḥ sugrīvasadṛśo hayaḥ ||
yo 'yaṃ dhuraṃ dhuryavaro vāmaṃ vahati śobhanaḥ ||
taṃ manye meghapuṣpasya javena sadṛśaṃ hayam ||
yo 'yaṃ kāñcanasaṃnāhaḥ pārṣṇiṃ vahati śobhanaḥ ||
vāmaṃ sainyasya manye taṃ javena balavattaram ||
yo 'yaṃ vahati te pārṣṇiṃ dakṣiṇām añcitodyataḥ ||
balāhakād api mataḥ sa jave vīryavattaraḥ ||
tvām evāyaṃ ratho voḍhuṃ saṃgrāme 'rhati dhanvinam ||
tvaṃ cemaṃ ratham āsthāya yoddhum arho mato mama ||
"When this right yoke-horse, like Sugriva, moves, its footfall upon the ground goes unseen. This fine, foremost yoke-horse, which bears the left side of the yoke, seems to me equal in speed to Meghapushpa. This fine horse in golden harness, bearing the left hindquarter, seems to me swifter than the whole army. And this one, bearing your right hindquarter, held high and slender, is thought even swifter and mightier in speed than Balahaka. Only you, the archer, does this chariot deserve to carry into battle, O wielder of the bow; and you, mounting this chariot, are fit to fight — so I think."
