译文

Sanjaya said: "As the blessed Vyasa, Krishna-Dvaipayana, had foretold, so all the lords of the earth gathered together. On that day the moon entered the domain of Magha, and the seven great luminaries blazed in the sky. At sunrise the sun appeared as if split in two; the radiant sun rose into the sky with a blazing tail. In the illumined quarter jackals and crows, feeders on flesh and blood, howled as though already craving human bodies."
