तस्मात् सर्वैः सुरैः सेन्द्रैर् लोकैश् चामितविक्रमः ॥
नावज्ञेयो वासुदेवो मानुषो ऽयम् इति प्रभुः ॥
यश् च मानुषमात्रो ऽयम् इति ब्रूयात् सुमन्दधीः ॥
हृषीकेशम् अवज्ञानात् तम् आहुः पुरुषाधमम् ॥
योगिनं तं महात्मानं प्रविष्टं मानुषीं तनुम् ॥
अवमन्येद् वासुदेवं तम् आहुस् तामसं जनाः ॥
देवं चराचरात्मानं श्रीवत्साङ्कं सुवर्चसम् ॥
पद्मनाभं न जानाति तम् आहुस् तामसं जनाः ॥
किरीटकौस्तुभधरं मित्राणाम् अभयंकरम् ॥
अवजानन् महात्मानं घोरे तमसि मज्जति ॥
एवं विदित्वा तत्त्वार्थं लोकानाम् ईश्वरेश्वरः ॥
वासुदेवो नमस्कार्यः सर्वलोकैः सुरोत्तमाः ॥
एवम् उक्त्वा स भगवान् सर्वान् देवगणान् पुरा ॥
विसृज्य सर्वलोकात्मा जगाम भवनं स्वकम् ॥
ततो देवाः सगन्धर्वा मुनयो ऽप्सरसो ऽपि च ॥
कथां तां ब्रह्मणा गीतां श्रुत्वा प्रीता दिवं ययुः ॥

nāvajñeyo vāsudevo mānuṣo 'yam iti prabhuḥ ||
yaś ca mānuṣamātro 'yam iti brūyāt sumandadhīḥ ||

yoginaṃ taṃ mahātmānaṃ praviṣṭaṃ mānuṣīṃ tanum ||
avamanyed vāsudevaṃ tam āhus tāmasaṃ janāḥ ||
devaṃ carācarātmānaṃ śrīvatsāṅkaṃ suvarcasam ||
padmanābhaṃ na jānāti tam āhus tāmasaṃ janāḥ ||
kirīṭakaustubhadharaṃ mitrāṇām abhayaṃkaram ||
avajānan mahātmānaṃ ghore tamasi majjati ||
evaṃ viditvā tattvārthaṃ lokānām īśvareśvaraḥ ||
vāsudevo namaskāryaḥ sarvalokaiḥ surottamāḥ ||
evam uktvā sa bhagavān sarvān devagaṇān purā ||
visṛjya sarvalokātmā jagāma bhavanaṃ svakam ||
tato devāḥ sagandharvā munayo 'psaraso 'pi ca ||
kathāṃ tāṃ brahmaṇā gītāṃ śrutvā prītā divaṃ yayuḥ ||
"Therefore Vasudeva, the immeasurably mighty Lord, must not be scorned — not by all the gods headed by Indra, nor by the worlds — with the thought, 'He is a man.' Whoever, out of ignorance, would say of Hrishikesha, 'He is merely a man,' is called the vilest of men. Whoever scorns Vasudeva, the great yogin who has entered a human body, is called dark by the people. Whoever fails to recognize the God, the Self of the moving and the unmoving, radiant Padmanabha marked with Shrivatsa, is called dark by the people. Scorning the great-souled one, crowned and wearing the Kaustubha, giver of fearlessness to His friends — such a man sinks into terrible darkness. Thus, having known the true meaning, O best of gods, all the worlds should bow down to Vasudeva, the Lord of the lords of the worlds." Having spoken thus to all the hosts of gods, the blessed Self of all worlds dismissed them and went to His own abode. Then the gods with the gandharvas, the sages, and the apsarases too, having heard this tale sung by Brahma, went joyfully to heaven.
