Translation

Suta said: 'Thus has all been told to you, how the nectar of immortality was churned — and how that horse was born, splendid and of incomparable might. Beholding him, Kadru then said to Vinata: "What color is Uccaihshravas, tell me? Find out, gracious one, without delay." Vinata said: "This king of horses is surely white. And what do you think, fair one? Name his color yourself, and then let us make a wager on it." Kadru said: "I think, O radiant-smiling one, that this horse has a black tail. Come, let us wager together, O beautiful one — on slavery [for the loser]." Suta said: 'Thus, having made a pact with each other — that the loser would become a slave — they went to their own homes, saying: "Tomorrow we shall see."''
