Translation

Seeing that the great ocean had become waterless, all the gods rejoiced exceedingly; taking up their splendid divine weapons, undaunted in spirit, they struck down the danavas. Those danavas, battered by the great and mighty celestials, could not withstand the onslaught of the swift-moving gods. Roaring fearsomely, the danavas, assailed by the thirty gods, waged a fierce battle for but a moment. But having already been consumed before by the austerity of the enlightened sages, however hard they strove with all their strength, they were destroyed by the gods. Slain, adorned with golden necklaces, earrings, and bracelets, they lay beautifully, like blossoming kimshuka trees. Some surviving Kaleyas, best of men, tore open the goddess Earth and took refuge in the netherworld. Seeing the danavas slain, the thirty gods began to praise the best of sages with various words and said: "By your grace, O illustrious one, the worlds have attained great happiness; by your splendor the Kaleyas, cruel in their might, have been slain."
