Vaishampayana said: "Hearing this word of Ajatashatru, Dhananjaya took the elder's speech as a command and promised the release of the Kauravas. Arjuna said: 'If the Gandharvas do not release the sons of Dhritarashtra peacefully, today the earth will drink the blood of the king of the Gandharvas.' Hearing this vow of the truthful Arjuna, the Kauravas, O king, once again recovered their presence of mind."
