नो चेद् गच्छेत् संगरं मन्दबुद्धिस्; ताभ्यां सुतो मे विपरीतचेताः ॥
नो चेत् कुरून् संजय निर्दहेताम्; इन्द्राविष्णू दैत्यसेनां यथैव ॥
मतो हि मे शक्रसमो धनंजयः; सनातनो वृष्णिवीरश् च विष्णुः ॥
धर्मारामो ह्रीनिषेधस् तरस्वी; कुन्तीपुत्रः पाण्डवो ऽजातशत्रुः ॥

स गच्छ शीघ्रं प्रहितो रथेन; पाञ्चालराजस्य चमूं परेत्य ॥
अजातशत्रुं कुशलं स्म पृच्छेः; पुनः पुनः प्रीतियुक्तं वदेस् त्वम् ॥

ajātaśatruṃ kuśalaṃ sma pṛccheḥ; punaḥ punaḥ prītiyuktaṃ vades tvam ||
I consider Dhananjaya equal to Indra, and Krishna, greatest of the Vrishni race, to be the eternal Vishnu himself. Yudhishthira, son of Kunti and Pandu, is virtuous and valiant, and shuns disgraceful deeds. Possessed of immense energy, he was wronged by Duryodhana. Were he not so restrained, he would in his wrath have burned up the sons of Dhritarashtra. I fear the anger of the king, O Suta, when it is roused, more than I fear Arjuna, or Bhima, or Krishna, or the twin brothers. Great are his austerities; he is devoted to the practice of brahmacharya. The desires of his heart are certain to be fulfilled. When I think of his wrath, O Sanjaya, and realize how just it is, I am seized with dread. Go quickly, in the chariot I have sent, to where the forces of the Panchala king are encamped. You shall ask Yudhishthira of his welfare. Again and again you shall address him with affection. You shall also meet Krishna, O child, who is foremost among all the valiant and possessed of a magnanimous soul. Of him too you shall ask, on my behalf, after his welfare, and tell him that Dhritarashtra desires peace with the sons of Pandu.
