महाभये वीतभयः कृतास्त्रः; समागमे शत्रुबलावमर्दी ॥
सकृद् रथेन प्रतियाद् रथौघान्; पदातिसंघान् गदयाभिनिघ्नन् ॥
सैन्यान् अनेकांस् तरसा विमृद्नन्; यदा क्षेप्ता धार्तराष्ट्रस्य सैन्यम् ॥
छिन्दन् वनं परशुनेव शूरस्; तदा युद्धं धार्तराष्ट्रो ऽन्वतप्स्यत् ॥
तृणप्रायं ज्वलनेनेव दग्धं; ग्रामं यथा धार्तराष्ट्रः समीक्ष्य ॥
पक्वं सस्यं वैद्युतेनेव दग्धं; परासिक्तं विपुलं स्वं बलौघम् ॥
हतप्रवीरं विमुखं भयार्तं; पराङ्मुखं प्रायशो ऽधृष्टयोधम् ॥
शस्त्रार्चिषा भीमसेनेन दग्धं; तदा युद्धं धार्तराष्ट्रो ऽन्वतप्स्यत् ॥
उपासङ्गाद् उद्धरन् दक्षिणेन; परःशतान् नकुलश् चित्रयोधी ॥
यदा रथाग्र्यो रथिनः प्रचेता; तदा युद्धं धार्तराष्ट्रो ऽन्वतप्स्यत् ॥

mahābhaye vītabhayaḥ kṛtāstraḥ; samāgame śatrubalāvamardī ||
sakṛd rathena pratiyād rathaughān; padātisaṃghān gadayābhinighnan ||
sainyān anekāṃs tarasā vimṛdnan; yadā kṣeptā dhārtarāṣṭrasya sainyam ||
chindan vanaṃ paraśuneva śūras; tadā yuddhaṃ dhārtarāṣṭro 'nvatapsyat ||
tṛṇaprāyaṃ jvalaneneva dagdhaṃ; grāmaṃ yathā dhārtarāṣṭraḥ samīkṣya ||
pakvaṃ sasyaṃ vaidyuteneva dagdhaṃ; parāsiktaṃ vipulaṃ svaṃ balaugham ||
hatapravīraṃ vimukhaṃ bhayārtaṃ; parāṅmukhaṃ prāyaśo 'dhṛṣṭayodham ||
śastrārciṣā bhīmasenena dagdhaṃ; tadā yuddhaṃ dhārtarāṣṭro 'nvatapsyat ||
upāsaṅgād uddharan dakṣiṇena; paraḥśatān nakulaś citrayodhī ||
yadā rathāgryo rathinaḥ pracetā; tadā yuddhaṃ dhārtarāṣṭro 'nvatapsyat ||

He went into that magnificent hall. Immaculately white and spacious, it was adorned with a golden floor. And shining like the moon
