धृतराष्ट्र उवाच
अङ्ग संजय मे शंस पन्थानम् अकुतोभयम् ॥
येन गत्वा हृषीकेशं प्राप्नुयां शान्तिम् उत्तमाम् ॥
संजय उवाच
नाकृतात्मा कृतात्मानं जातु विद्याज् जनार्दनम् ॥
आत्मनस् तु क्रियोपायो नान्यत्रेन्द्रियनिग्रहात् ॥
इन्द्रियाणाम् उदीर्णानां कामत्यागो ऽप्रमादतः ॥
अप्रमादो ऽविहिंसा च ज्ञानयोनिर् असंशयम् ॥
इन्द्रियाणां यमे यत्तो भव राजन्न् अतन्द्रितः ॥
बुद्धिश् च मा ते च्यवतु नियच्छैतां यतस् ततः ॥
एतज् ज्ञानं विदुर् विप्रा ध्रुवम् इन्द्रियधारणम् ॥
एतज् ज्ञानं च पन्थाश् च येन यान्ति मनीषिणः ॥

dhṛtarāṣṭra uvāca
aṅga saṃjaya me śaṃsa panthānam akutobhayam ||
yena gatvā hṛṣīkeśaṃ prāpnuyāṃ śāntim uttamām ||
saṃjaya uvāca
nākṛtātmā kṛtātmānaṃ jātu vidyāj janārdanam ||
ātmanas tu kriyopāyo nānyatrendriyanigrahāt ||
indriyāṇām udīrṇānāṃ kāmatyāgo 'pramādataḥ ||
apramādo 'vihiṃsā ca jñānayonir asaṃśayam ||
indriyāṇāṃ yame yatto bhava rājann atandritaḥ ||
buddhiś ca mā te cyavatu niyacchaitāṃ yatas tataḥ ||
etaj jñānaṃ vidur viprā dhruvam indriyadhāraṇam ||
etaj jñānaṃ ca panthāś ca yena yānti manīṣiṇaḥ ||

Translation

Dhritarashtra: 'In their presence, O king, I will tell you all about the intentions of Keshava and Partha.' Vaishampayana continued: 'Thus Dhritarashtra ordered that Gandhari and Vyasa be brought there. And, ushered in by Vidura, they entered the court without delay. And having understood the intent of Sanjaya and his son, Krishna-Dvaipayana, endowed with great wisdom, said: "Tell Dhritarashtra, who questions you, O Sanjaya, all that he wishes to know."'
