"Whoever is happy within, rejoices within, and whose light is within, that yogin, having become Brahman, attains brahma-nirvana. The seers whose impurity is destroyed, whose doubts are cut away, who are self-controlled and delight in the welfare of all beings, obtain brahma-nirvana. For the ascetics free from desire and anger, with controlled minds, who have known the atman, brahma-nirvana abides on every side. Having put the external contacts outside, fixing the gaze between the eyebrows, equalizing the prana and apana that move within the nose, mastering the senses, mind, and buddhi, the sage intent on liberation, free from desire, fear, and anger, is always already free. Having known Me as the enjoyer of sacrifices and austerities, the great Lord of all worlds, and the friend of all beings, he attains peace."

The chapter's culmination joins inner discipline with personal knowledge of Krishna. Final peace comes not merely from a technique of restraint, but from understanding Him as the Lord, the receiver of sacrifice, and the friend of all living beings.
