Translation

Then Arjuna, having conquered Sushrama and the other kings together with their followers amid the host, went toward his own camp. Yudhishthira the Kaurava, too, together with his two brothers, went by night to his own camp, surrounded by his army. Bhimasena, O lord of kings, having conquered in the battle the chariot-warriors led by Duryodhana, likewise went toward his own camp. And King Duryodhana, having been surrounded by Bhishma, son of Shantanu, in the great battle, swiftly set out for the camp. Drona, Drauni, Kripa, Shalya, and Kritavarman of the Satvatas, having gathered the whole army about them, went toward the camp. So too Satyaki, O king, and Dhrishtadyumna, son of Prishata, having gathered the warriors together in the battle, went toward the camp. Thus, O great king, your men, together with the Pandavas, those scorchers of foes, turned back together as night fell. Then, having gone to their own camps, the Pandavas and the Kurus alike settled themselves, O great king, honoring one another. The heroes, having secured their own protection and posted their guards as was proper, having drawn out the arrow-shafts and bathed in various waters, having performed the rites of well-being, and being praised by bards, took their ease to the sound of song and instrument, those glorious men. For a brief while all this became like heaven; the great warriors held no talk whatsoever of war there. When that army had fallen asleep, O king, its people wearied, both camps, rich in elephants and horses, O king, became a sight worth beholding."
