काम्बोजैः शबलैर् अश्वैर् अभ्यवर्तत दुर्जयः ॥

In total, twelve thousand great chariot-warriors of the Panchalas; of them, six thousand were those who went after Shikhandin. And the son of Shishupala, that man-lion, O worthy one, frolicking, was carried by horses dappled like the saranga doe. And Dhrishtaketu, the foremost bull of the Chedis, filled with might, unconquerable, advanced on dappled Kamboja horses.

Among the review is named also the son of Shishupala -- that Shishupala who was slain by Krishna for reviling the Lord; now his son stands for the Pandavas, on the side of righteousness. Here is a quiet tale of how a son atones for or rises above his father's path, choosing a different banner. It is telling that the father's enmity toward Krishna did not fall as a curse upon the son: each answers for his own choice. The verse teaches that a parent's guilt or error does not predetermine the path of the offspring; that a son is free to stand where his father did not stand, and thereby heal his lineage's inheritance; and that the account honors this free choice, placing the son of the one who reviled the Lord among the defenders of dharma.
