व्युष्टायां तु वरारोहे रजन्यां पापकर्मकृत् ॥
न हि मोक्ष्यति पार्थात् स प्रविष्टो ऽप्य् अमरावतीम् ॥
श्वः शिरः श्रोष्यसे तस्य सैन्धवस्य रणे हृतम् ॥
समन्तपञ्चकाद् बाह्यं विशोका भव मा रुदः ॥

na hi mokṣyati pārthāt sa praviṣṭo 'py amarāvatīm ||
śvaḥ śiraḥ śroṣyase tasya saindhavasya raṇe hṛtam ||
samantapañcakād bāhyaṃ viśokā bhava mā rudaḥ ||

Translation
"Once the night has passed, O fair one, the villain shall not escape Partha, even were he to enter Amaravati. Tomorrow you shall hear of his head, the Saindhava's, carried off in battle beyond the bounds of Samantapanchaka. Be free of grief, do not weep."

Krishna announces the fulfillment of the vow as already accomplished: "śvaḥ śiraḥ śroṣyase", "tomorrow you shall hear of his head". No refuge shall shelter the guilty one — "praviṣṭaḥ api amarāvatīm", even Indra's own city. It is telling that the Lord consoles not only with the past (the honor of the fallen) but gives a firm pledge of the future: retribution is unalterable. "Viśokā bhava mā rudaḥ", "be free of grief, do not weep", is the conclusion. The verse teaches that the Lord's word about what is to come is as certain as of what has already happened; and faith in His promise dries tears more surely than any argument, for it rests not on hope but on certainty.
