नु जातश् पिरं मातृक्षं वीर्यवान्
स्रशो रिपून् त्वा तः शूरो हाथः
श्वा स्नुषां राज्ञि मा शुचः क्षत्रिये भृषम्
श्वः प्रियं सुहच् छ्रुत्वा विशोका न्दिनि

anu taś ca pitaraṃ tṛpakṣaṃ ca ryavān ||
sahasraśo rin hatvā hataḥ śūro marathaḥ ||
āśvāsaya snuṣāṃ jñi śucaḥ kṣatriye bhṛṣam ||
śvaḥ priyaṃ sumahac chrutvā viśo bhava nandini ||

Translation

"And, taking after his father and his mother's kin, the valiant one, having slain enemies by the thousand, the brave great chariot-warrior was slain. Console the daughter-in-law, O queen; do not grieve excessively, O kshatriya woman. Tomorrow, hearing very great and joyful news, be free of grief, O delight."
