नाराचैर् तिविद्धानां राणां रूपम् भौ
शीविविष्टानां र्पाणाम् भा
योर् ज्यानिर्घोषो व्यश्रू सुदारुणः
स्रं शैशृङ्गाणां ज्रेणान्यताम्

āśīviṣavidaṣṭānāṃ sarpāṇām iva bhārata ||
tayor jyātalanirghoṣo vyaśrūyata suruṇaḥ ||
ajasraṃ śailaśṛṅgāṇāṃ vajreṇāhanyam iva ||

Translation

The arrows, deeply pierced by iron shafts, appeared like serpents bitten by venomous snakes, O Bharata. From the two of them, the sound of bowstring and armguard was heard, most terrible, ceaseless, as of mountain peaks struck by the thunderbolt.
