ताकास् पुत्राश् द्रोणानीस्थयोस् योः
नैतौ रिष्यतो द्रोणम् ति क्रुस् दा तिम्
तौ तु दृष्ट्वा व्यतिक्रान्तौ द्रोणानीकं हाद्युती
नाशंसुर् हारा सिन्धुरास्य जीवितम्
शा ती राजन् पुत्राणाम् वत्
द्रोहार्दिक्ययोः कृष्णौ मोक्ष्येते ति प्रभो

vas tava putrāś ca droṇākasthayos tayoḥ ||
naitau tariṣyato droṇam iti cakrus ta matim ||
tau tu dṛṣṭvā vyatikrāntau droṇākaṃ madyu ||
śaśaṃsur maja sindhujasya vitam ||
āśā balava jan putrāṇām abhavat tava ||
droṇardikyayoḥ kṛṣṇau na mokṣyete iti prabho ||

Translation

Your [warriors] and your sons, [when] those two were at Drona's formation, thought thus: "These two will not get past Drona." But having seen them having passed through Drona's formation, [two] resplendent ones, they did not hope, O great king, for the life of the king of Sindhu. Strong was the hope, O king, that your sons held: "From Drona and Hardikya, the two Krishnas will not escape," O lord.
