शस्त्रौघान् महतो मुक्तौ द्रोणहार्दिक्यरक्षितान् ॥
रोचमानाव् अदृश्येताम् इन्द्राग्न्योः सदृशौ रणे ॥
उद्भिन्नरुधिरौ कृष्णौ भारद्वाजस्य सायकैः ॥
शितैश् चितौ व्यरोचेतां कर्णिकारैर् इवाचलौ ॥

Translation
Freed from the great torrent of weapons, guarded by Drona and Hardikya, shining, they appeared, like Indra and Agni in battle. Bloodied, the two Krishnas, studded with the sharp arrows of Bharadvaja [Drona], shone like two mountains covered with karnikara blossoms.

Bloodied, studded with arrows, the two shine "karṇikāraiḥ iva acalau", like mountains blooming with red karnikara flowers. Wounds are turned into blossoming. It is telling that the Lord Himself is shown wounded — He shares the ordeal of battle with His devotee. The verse teaches that suffering accepted in a righteous cause is transfigured into beauty: wounds become like red flowers upon a mountain; and the Lord does not stand apart from the suffering of His own — bloodied beside His devotee, He sanctifies the very pain, turning it into the semblance of blossoming glory.
