एवम् उक्त्वा ततो भीमम् अन्तर्धानगतस् तदा ॥
महाता शरवर्षेण भृशं तं समवाकिरत् ॥
भीमस् तु समरे राजन्न् अदृश्ये राक्षसे तदा ॥
आकाशं पूरयाम् आस शरैः संनतपर्वभिः ॥
स वध्यमानो भीमेन निमेषाद् रथम् आस्थितः ॥
जगाम धरणीं क्षुद्रः खं चैव सहसागमत् ॥
evam uktvā tato bhīmam antardhānagatas tadā ||
mahātā śaravarṣeṇa bhṛśaṃ taṃ samavākirat ||
bhīmas tu samare rājann adṛśye rākṣase tadā ||
ākāśaṃ pūrayām āsa śaraiḥ saṃnataparvabhiḥ ||
sa vadhyamāno bhīmena nimeṣād ratham āsthitaḥ ||
jagāma dharaṇīṃ kṣudraḥ khaṃ caiva sahasāgamat ||
So saying to Bhima, the rakshasa, becoming invisible, sorely overwhelmed him with a great shower of arrows. And Bhima, in the battle, O king, while the rakshasa was invisible, filled the sky with smooth-jointed arrows. He, struck by Bhima, would in an instant, though standing upon the chariot, sink down into the earth, the vile one, and then suddenly soar up into the sky.
