बाह्लिका यत्र दृश्यन्ते नानाप्रहरणोद्यताः ॥
दाक्षिणात्याश् च बहवः सूतपुत्रपुरोगमाः ॥
हस्त्यश्वरथसंबाधं यच् चानीकं विलोक्यते ॥
नानादेशसमुत्थैश् च पदातिभिर् अधिष्ठितम् ॥
एतावद् उक्त्वा यन्तारं ब्रह्माणं परिवर्जयन् ॥
स व्यतीयाय यत्रोग्रं कर्णस्य सुमहद् बलम् ॥

bāhlikā yatra dṛśyante nānāpraharaṇodyatāḥ ||
dākṣiṇātyāś ca bahavaḥ sūtaputrapurogamāḥ ||
hastyaśvarathasaṃbādhaṃ yac cānīkaṃ vilokyate ||
nānādeśasamutthaiś ca padātibhir adhiṣṭhitam ||
etāvad uktvā yantāraṃ brahmāṇaṃ parivarjayan ||
sa vyatīyāya yatrograṃ karṇasya sumahad balam ||

सः व्यतीयाय यत्र उग्रम्saḥ vyatīyāya yatra ugramhe passed [there] where the fierce; he went on [there] where the fierce
कर्णस्य सुमहत् बलम्karṇasya sumahat balamexceedingly great army of Karna [was]; the exceedingly great host of Karna [was]
Translation

"Where the Bahlikas are seen with varied weapons raised, and the many southerners led by the son of the suta [Karna]; the army crowded with elephants, horses, chariots, and whatever formation is seen, occupied by foot-soldiers risen from various lands." So saying to the charioteer, going around the brahmin, he passed on to where the fierce, exceedingly great army of Karna was.
