तो ऽरे ल्ले पीते निशिते
स्यतो वृष्णिवीस्य निर्त रानम्
सात्यकिं छिन्नन्वानं प्रसन्न् भा
विध्यन् माधो वीरः ञ्चभिर् निशितैः रैः
विद्धो हुभिर् बाणैर् संधे वीर्यवान्
नाम्प हाबाहुस् तद् द्भुतम् वावत्

tato 'pareṇa bhallena tena niśitena ca ||
asyato vṛṣṇirasya nicakarta śasanam ||
tyakiṃ chinnadhanvānaṃ prahasann iva bhārata ||
avidhyan māgadho raḥ pañcabhir niśitaiḥ śaraiḥ ||
sa viddho bahubhir bāṇair jalasaṃdhena ryavān ||
kampata mahus tad adbhutam ibhavat ||

Translation

Then with another yellow, sharpened broad-headed arrow, [Jalasandha] cut the bow [of] the Vrishni hero, shooting arrows. Satyaki, [with] his bow cut, as if laughing, o Bharata, the Magadhan hero pierced with five sharp arrows. He, pierced by many arrows of Jalasandha, the valiant one, did not tremble, the mighty-armed — that became like a wonder.
