तेषां प्रयततां युद्धे शरवर्षाणि मुञ्चताम् ॥
योधान् पञ्चशतान् मुख्यान् अग्रानीके व्यपोथयत् ॥
ते ऽपतन्त हतास् तूर्णं शिनिप्रवरसायकैः ॥
महामारुतवेगेन रुग्णा इव महाद्रुमाः ॥

teṣāṃ prayatatāṃ yuddhe śaravarṣāṇi muñcatām ||
yodhān pañcaśatān mukhyān agrānīke vyapothayat ||
te 'patanta hatās tūrṇaṃ śinipravarasāyakaiḥ ||
mahāmārutavegena rugṇā iva mahādrumāḥ ||

Translation

Of those striving in battle, pouring down showers of arrows, [Satyaki] crushed five hundred foremost warriors in the vanguard. They fell at once, slain by the arrows of the foremost of the Shini clan, like great trees snapped by the blast of a mighty wind.
