तां समुद्रम् इवोद्धूतां शरवृष्टिं समुत्थिताम् ॥
अचिन्तयित्वा भीमस् तु क्रुद्धः कर्णम् उपाद्रवत् ॥
रुक्मपृष्ठं महच् चापं भीमस्यासीद् विशां पते ॥
आकर्षान् मण्डलीभूतं शक्रचापम् इवापरम् ॥
तस्माच् छराः प्रादुरासन् पूरयन्त इवाम्बरम् ॥
सुवर्णपुङ्खैर् भीमेन सायकैर् नतपर्वभिः ॥
गगने रचिता माला काञ्चनीव व्यराजत ॥
ततो व्योम्नि विषक्तानि शरजालानि भागशः ॥
आहतानि व्यशीर्यन्त भीमसेनस्य पत्रिभिः ॥

tāṃ samudram ivoddhūtāṃ śaravṛṣṭiṃ samutthitām ||
acintayitvā bhīmas tu kruddhaḥ karṇam upādravat ||
rukmapṛṣṭhaṃ mahac cāpaṃ bhīmasyāsīd viśāṃ pate ||
ākarṣān maṇḍalībhūtaṃ śakracāpam ivāparam ||
tasmāc charāḥ prādurāsan pūrayanta ivāmbaram ||
suvarṇapuṅkhair bhīmena sāyakair nataparvabhiḥ ||
gagane racitā mālā kāñcanīva vyarājata ||
tato vyomni viṣaktāni śarajālāni bhāgaśaḥ ||
āhatāni vyaśīryanta bhīmasenasya patribhiḥ ||

Translation

That [downpour], like a surging ocean, the risen shower of arrows, disregarding [it], Bhima, however, enraged, rushed upon Karna. The great gold-backed bow was with Bhima, O lord of the peoples, from the draw turned into a circle, like another rainbow. By Bhima, [with arrows] of golden feathers, with smooth joints, a garland woven in the sky shone as if golden. Then in the sky the hanging nets of arrows, in pieces, struck down, scattered by Bhimasena's feathered [arrows].
