Here Bhima declines help with calm assurance. It is telling that he refuses his brother's participation not out of pride but from a perfect knowledge of his own strength: "now that he has come between my arms" — the outcome is already settled. This is firmness born not of conceit but of the truth of granted power: the confidence of the righteous rests on what is real, not on boasting. The verse shows that there are tasks for which one alone suffices: Bhima gratefully hears his brother, but takes the whole burden upon himself.
